No problem. You can still use either version of WebsitePlannerPro by downloading Open Office—it’s free!—at www.openoffice.org and opening the file that way. Close
Will WebsitePlannerPro work on my platform?

What does the Excel file version of WebsitePlannerPro include?
The Excel version of WebsitePlannerPro consists of a single Excel file containing seven tabbed worksheets: a welcome letter; a bonus article (Understanding Website Development Roles—Including Yours); a goal planning worksheet; a desired users planning worksheet; a content planning worksheet; a content tracking worksheet; and a key contact information worksheet.
Please note: WebsitePlannerPro does NOT inlude copy (text) for your Website. Copywriting, like designing, is an entirely different phase of the project. If you don't plan to write your own content, you will need to appoint or hire a copywriter. Close
Does the Excel version of WebsitePlannerpro contain instructions?
All seven worksheets within the Excel file are largely self-explanatory, but simple instructions and tips are included, as well. Close

Please note: WebsitePlannerPro does NOT inlude copy (text) for your Website. Copywriting, like designing, is an entirely different phase in the Website development process. If you don't plan to write your own content, you will need to appoint or hire a copywriter. Close
Does the Word file version contain instructions?
Yes. As with the Excel version, we include simple instructions and tips. Close
How does the Word version differ from the Excel version?
The content is exactly the same, but the formatting is different. The Word version is formatted as a workbook consisting of 8.5” x 11” black and white pages. Instead of spreadsheets, it uses tables for gridded (templated) information and plain pages for lengthier text. Close
Are there advantages to using one format over the other?
Yes, depending on how you plan to use your WebsitePlannerPro planner.
Advantages of the Excel format:
- Displays each WebsitePlannerPro component in its entirety within a separate tabbed spreadsheet. You can scroll up and down the Content worksheet, for instance, to see all of your content and feature choices on a single page.
- Easy to modify. You can add, delete, or change cells, rows and columns as you wish, and add comments, as well.
- Easy to share with other members of your Website development team. You can upload the Excel file to Google Docs to provide everyone with immediate access to the worksheets.
Advantages of the Word format:
- Easy to print out. The Word workbook consists of standard-size 8.5” x 11” pages and is formatted in printer-friendly black and white.
- More portable. You can take the pages with you if you want to do your planning away from your computer.
- Smaller segments. In the Word version, we use tables instead of spreadsheets and divide information into smaller segments to accommodate the page size. This is helpful if you prefer to work on portions of your Website content—e.g., your About Pages or Services Pages--one page at a time.
Both WebsitePlannerPro formats enable you to work online, of course. Both enable you to insert comments. Both are easy to e-mail to other people on your Website development team. Close
Is there an advantage to buying both formats?
In some cases, yes.
- If you wish to do some planning at the computer and some planning away from the computer, having both versions will be helpful. The Word format is easier to print out, and your can transfer your handwritten entries to the online Excel version later.
- If you are collaborating with others to select the types of content and features you want for your Website, you can offer them a choice of formats. Some individuals are visually more comfortable using one over the other.

Will WebsitePlannerPro work for my business in another country?
If you offer the same set of services there that you would if you were based in the U.S., you will find it equally helpful. You'll have to translate the content if your Website is written in another language, of course. If it's written in English, you may have to substitute certain words and phrases to localize it. If your business differs in some ways from what you would offer in the U.S., you still may find WebsitePlannerPro helpful for its process and content ideas. Close
How is WebsitePlannerPro delivered?
By e-mail as an attachment. If you purchase both formats, they are bundled within a Zip folder. Close
Is WebsitePlannerPro available on a CD, as well?
Not at this time. The WebsitePlannerPro files are easy to deliver electronically, which saves you the cost of shipping. Close
What forms of payment do you accept?
We're set up to accept payment through PayPal, which enables you to use your Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express card. Close
Do I have to have a PayPal account to make a purchase?
No. You can use your credit or debit card without having a PayPal account. Close
Will delivery take longer if I use PayPal eCheck?
Yes. We can't process an order paid for by eCheck until the check has cleared, and that can take several days to a week. We suggest using a credit card or debit card instead, or depositing money into your PayPal account and letting it clear before you purchase. Close
How will my order be processed?
Once you complete your PayPal purchase, you will receive an acknowledgment e-mail containing the hyperlink you'll use to download the file(s). The whole transaction should take no more than a few minutes, and you'll have up to 24 hours to do the download. Close
What is your refund policy?
Because WebsitePlannerPro is an electronic product (and therefore subject to...ahem, unauthorized copying), we can't offer a money-back guarantee. Please read the product page carefully before buying. We've done our best to describe exactly what our planners consist of, and we've included sample thumbnails of our templates to give you a sense (not a full-size read) of how they appear. Close
Is there a limit to how often I can use WebsitePlannerPro?
If you have purchased a WebsitePlannerPro planner for the purpose of planning your own small business or professional practice Website content, you can reopen and use the file as often as necessary. If you are a Website designer, builder or developer, and have purchased it to help plan a client's Website content, you are welcome to provide that client with a copy and recoup your cost. That said, please be ethical about using the same planner to help other clients in the same type of business: do not profit from reselling it. In other words, buy the planner from us again if you intend to bill for it again. Close
What is your policy for duplicating or selling WebsitePlannerPro?
WebsitePlannerPro planners are protected by trademark and copyright law and are not intended for resale. You may use them to plan your own Website content. If you're a Website development professional, you may use them to help plan a client's Website content. You are not allowed to copy, duplicate, distribute, sell or use any WebsitePlannerPro planner for any other purpose. Close
Will my personal information be shared with third parties?
Absolutely not. We do not share any customer information with any third party. Close
Do you custom-design Website content planners?

Do you do any corporate consulting around content planning?
